I was up on the Cowichan last week and the fishing was poor. After fishing a number of spots in the Mid-river area, I finally connected with a fish in the Stoltz Pool area. It didn't put up a great fight considering that it was a bright looking fish. When I got it to hand, It was showing a series of net marks. Has anyone else experienced the same situation lately? Possibly that is why the fishing has completely dropped off.

Most of the time what anglers think are net marks are marks/loss of scales from the anglers line rubbing on the fish as it twists/turns/ runs. This causes a number of parallel lines running from dorsal to belly at an angle, between the tail and gill plate.
