i hear theres some kind of new hootchie that has a v chip or something in it! it gives off a electric charge that imitates a baitfish like a herring or anchovie! anyone know more on this hootchie who makes it and where we can buy one? thanx!

I've tried the e chip hoochies and flashers with not even a sniff. Caught fish on other lines while those were getting washed. Heard a discussion on a tv show one day about how well they catch. Apparently they really catch a lot of fishermen.

This line started with discussion regarding bait busters. Hear lots about them, but haven't caught anything on them either. I also agree they don't stand up to abuse well. One I have used 4 or 5 times is falling apart. The finish is peeling away from the face and flapping in the breeze. Two weeks ago I fished one alongside a straight hoochie of similar colors and within 10 ft of each other on the downriggers. Caught two on the hoochie, didn't even have a nibble on the bait buster. Roll was great, but nothing. Think I will try them a couple more times and they will go to the bottom of the box with the e chip stuff.

I am not sure how much I buy into the e chip either. We have tried them for salmon over here in Lake Michigan and they do not seem to take anymore fish than flashers without them. Here is a link for the e chip products if you are interested though.

Ditto to the other experiences noted... no identifiable improvement with them over normal hoochies...
