Fishing Experience
On and off my entire life. Worked for 3 summers on the Charlotte Princess at Langara Island in the Charlottes and need to exercise the fishing habit that I formed up there now that I'm in Vancity full time. Looking to pick up fly fishing in local rivers. I've only ever been out on the chuck so picking up a fly rod should be interesting I'm in it for the sport and being in the outdoors!

Very familiar. I didn't realize that there was decent fishing around lions gate. Interesting.
I'm looking to get started with some fly fishing gear, can someone point me towards a posting in the forums that talks about what to get for a beginner? Thanks for the welcomes!

If you are looking to catch trout try a 5wt (weight) fly rod. If you are looking to catch salmon or steelhead try an 8wt-9wt.
