Even a lottle bit of rain can trigger fish to start moving. A big rain that boosts the water levels will make fishing great for a while till it comes back down :peace: I would say anywhere from 20-30 mm of rain will boost any river enough for quite a few fish to start showing. Go on rainy days too, fish will be moving all day since it is cloudy

thanks alot, so with the forecast 1-3mm of rain, is it safe to assume the fish have not moved much since its been sunny and it will be a waste of time making the 2 and a half hour drive.?

appreciate the reply

Well never fished the nitnat myself... just going by what I notice ont he Vedder.... Fish will always move when it is raining, gives them security. What you are looking for though is a big rain that boosts water levels. When water comes up, even a bit, fish will start moving.

Here is a good site you can check for water levels, when you see a jump, it might be a good time to get out there :peace:
