Got up early this morning, picked up my dad & Scruffy, and drove out to the Vedder before first light. Hiked our way in through the bush for about 35 minutes to a nice little hole that we had previously scouted and found a couple of months ago. As soon as the sun came up we geared up and hit the flow hard with many of our special roe cures. ;) ;D A couple of casts in and Scruffy already has a nice hatchery ho on. After I help Scruffy bonk his fish my dad yells out "fish on". He ends up pulling in a bullet chrome 8lb. marble jack. Finally I get to get a couple more casts in and then wham! my float goes down hard. I end up landing a nice hatchery ho myself. So within about 45 min. we all had our dinner landed. We kept fishing for a few hours and were constantly pulling in jacks, coho, and the odd dirty pink. By the time we left we each had our limit of 2 coho and 2 jacks each. All of the fish we took were clean and chrome.

one of my coho

scruffy's two jacks,
the larger one had sea lice on it when he pulled it out!

Yes Yama...another great day on the flow with you and your dad as always  seen lots of fish moving through and missing on a few of those big pulls was quite a rush as it torqued my rod over to the point of flat lining
Can't wait til we hit the flow again as i just finished the last batch of roe and she looks killer in hopes to land some more ho's/jacks .

Had the same fortune to hook some nice chrome fish. No coho but did weed out a nice chrome red jack. Roe was the ticket as blades and wool didn't yield anything. i think things are definately picking up for sure.

I had a great day as well. Hooked tons of jack springs and couple of the big whities  Our group also managed 5 coho, 4 of which were hatchery. I got a nice 9lb hatch doe  An excellent day on the water :)

Hey Scruffy, sounds like you guys had a good blast at the flow,i guess you end up using your 3113m today ;).
yeah the 2106 sat on the side lines today after hitting a couple of those freight trains(springs) certainly changed things real quick ;D.

Nice report guys!

I guess I'll have to try and make it out there now. I'm envious.

Sounds like you had a great time. There was 4 of us camping out there from Thursday till Sunday. Fishing was hit and miss but did manage to keep a few fish. We got 7 Jack Springs, 1 red, 3 marble and 3 white. I hooked and landed a 20lb Spring on Friday at 1pm and was shocked to see it was a nice Red. (Chrome) Is there more chrome red's out there? We also got 6 Coho with 3 being hatchery. Hit 4 Coho on Sunday morning at a nice hole.

A buddy and I were a little late getting to the hole and there was 4 guy's on the North side of the hole. They had 2 Coho on the beach. Since they were fishing roe I through a blade and hit around an 8-9lb spring. As I landed it I said to my buddy looks like a Jack... (Never know the size until you get a good look...) A beak (seemed to be a good fisherman) yells out "That's a spring" I didn't bother to confront the moron.. Of course it was a spring after I got it to the edge. Then I hear him say that he must be using 20lb leader... So I guess my 15lb main and 10lb leader was too small ;D ;D Well I decided to fix them... Ok... this is nasty but I enjoyed every minute of it. I tied on a huge chrome blade and kept chucking it into the all areas of the hole. Of course the fishing died off as we all know it spooks the hole and the Coho stop hitting the roe. I kept it up till all 4 buggered off and then it was just me and my buddy. So I switched to roe and we hit 4 Coho. If he wasn’t a Putz I would have switched right away to roe.

Cheers, Rob

Lol. I like that blade tactic you used to get the hole to yourself. How many fights on the river have you put on your belt. ;)
None... ;) ;) Ignorance it bliss..... ;D ;D

PS: It wasn't about getting the hole to myself but to kill there actvity. I was going to stop but they packed up and left.
