Nov 30 2007 : Vedder. One last trip to catch the coho after a phone call from a friend saying Wednesday was still good. We got to the fishing ground around 9am. A few cast later, I hooked this wild red male; picture then released. Then some more chums. And then we went exploring for future Steelhead water and found a few promising spots. On our way back to the car, we gave our first spot a few casts and I was rewarded with a slightly color hatchery coho still with some silver scales on it. Bonk! Then just before we left around 12:30pm, I hooked another relatively clean chum. Bonk!

Not many fish around compare to a week ago. Water is low and extremnly cold.

A few chums and 2 coho (1 red, 1 clean) for the last day of fishing till next year is a good to end this season for my salmon fishing.

Good job! I wanted to get out there today (saturday) but the weather convinced me otherwise! By chance did your semi clean coho turn dark almost black after you bonked it?

I had a day like that 2 years ago. It was December 1st. Fishing the lower river for late coho. Was rewarded with 2 clean ho's. Spent a little time looking for some new steelhead spots, and sure enough, got a nice wild steelie. It's never too early to fish for steelhead.
