Hi All,

So I was just procrastinating a little by playing around on the DFO site, and I was a little confused.

If you look back at the last three, 4-year cycles, the number of sockeye in the nets is drastically larger than it has been this year (aside from 2006). In some cases, like in 1998, it's almost doubled for the same time period.

Does anyone know why this is? Net size change? Different diameter gillnet? I mean, there are sets where they haul in 500+ fish. I haven't seen more than 200 in any of the sets this year.
I just find that odd, if we're supposed to have 34 million fish... You'd think it would still be higher despite the commercial openings.

Thoughts?
