Spent the day with a buddy on the harrison. We each caught some chum but no clean ones. A beautiful day on the flow none the less. Lots of people out there and bunch of them were fly fishing ;D Can't wait to get out there again

I was out there yesterday(Sun) not to many people, lots of wind. I was fly fishing and landed and released two wild coho, both pretty coloured up, one pink buck and numerous dogs, most to dark to keep, all released and yeah I said a pink, very red with a big hump!
Hey Woody, that was a Sockeye buck, they hump out as well with a red body and green head, we had half a dozen hit the jigs today as well, very common at this time.

Converted a few more bouncers to jig fishing today as they were astonished by the continous triple and quadruple headers we were having short floating. I carry a bag full of used jigs for just these occassions.
Yep. Sounds like a sockeye buck to me - particularly with a "very red" body. The Harrison is where I hooked my first sockeye on the fly a number of years ago from now. An absolutely beautiful chrome buck that I first thought was a wild coho. Anyway, thanks for the report.
Hey FFM, did you go fishing on the weekend?

I got a big bag full of chum roe from my trip up to Browns bay Sat. and Sun. ;D
where would be a good part of the harrison to short float maribou jigs from a boat? Sorry for the dumb question, but don't have any experience with this river at all.
Also, what colors typically produce in this system?

Hey Bentrod, were you up there with a bunch of guys in a North river? there was some guys fishing with jigs on the bar I was fly fishing on.
Might have been me Woody, but guys on a bar in a North river are many on the river.

My boat has my company in big writing on the side and Lami stickers.

Alot of fresh Chum came through and twas a fine harvest of these once maligned salmon, if you keep the right ones you don't need a smoker ;D.
i need to get out and do a little of this harrison chum fishing as u call it.
Didn't know socks would be still around
