This has been eating at me for about a year now. I've been trying to get to the other side of the Slesse Creek hole. You know, the side where the gong show ain't, so I can actually fish. :wallbash: Yesterday, I waypointed Slesse on my GPS, went back downstream, across Tamihi, then up the Slesse Creek road. Followed that all the way, it climbs the mountain, turns into a forest service road, keeps climbing, and then drops down. Found a gated road that had a no trespassing sign and looked like someone's driveway, judging by the groomed grass down the road a bit. Kept going and eventually popped out on a sandy beach type place on the river. The Chilliwack Rafting people were about 50 yards downstream from me, taking a break. According to my GPS, I was a couple kilometers upstream from Slesse, and it would have be a semi-tough walk through the bush on a deer trail like path down the river.

There has to be an easier way to get in there. Anyone know how the heck I get down there? PM if you'd like. Thanks.

Are you talking about the other side of Limit hole? Why spend all that time walking to that spot, when you have many other good parts of the river to fish? Personally, I dont know why so many people fish Limit... maybe the fish like to rest in there for awhile before making there last push to the hatchery. Also The fish are alot fresher when they are closer to the ocean, so why are so many people bunching up right at the hatchery, where they are all ready starting to rypen, since they know there spawning grounds are only a few hundred meters ahead. Also I find it more enjoyable to fish out of sight of the gong show. Sorry, Im not sure how you would get to the back side.

If the Fish are fresher closer the the ocean i guess he should be fishing the fraser then right... The Vedder is a long ways away from the ocean ;)

I took a peak in a Limit hole today... AND WHAT A JOKE THAT WAS.... Couldnt beleieve it......

I'm merely trying to find another spot to fish on the river. I don't like fishing the Fraser cause of the insane retard population, and I like smaller flows. I don't fish the ocean because it's to far away, I refuse to go to Vancouver for anything other than football (and then only rarely), and I neither have the gear, boat or know-how. I fish many sections of the Vedder from the mouth all the way up to the Limit Hole. Sometimes with the crowds, but more often a few walk in spots away from the gong shows.

Thanks for the PM FishFreak.

I heard he was banned from another site because of all the BS he posts. But thats what i heard, and he hasn't posted on "that site" since July 25 so i assume its true, but enough side tracking I dont think its a good idea to post the exact GPS location of the backside for everyone to see. Imagine the gong show on both sides!!???

I'm confused, are you just trying to get to the other side of the river? I'll re-read the post, but if that is it, I just walk across.

Usually you can walk across just under the cemenet slab, but i wouldnt advise it right now the current is pretty strong right now, wait till it drops a little more then it wont be so bad, but as for the drive to the backside, its bit of a drive, the hike up is fun also... Not to to bad...

Ok I should clarify, I've been walking across all over the river for the past month or more. Just below the slab, lower down yet, but I wouldn't advise it for most.Depending on height, and ability and even then it's a gamble. Also just cause I'd feel bad if someone went for a final swim :-\
