Well I was just wondering if anyone went to the show. If you did then how was it. Was there any deal to be had? Did you buy anything? Was there any new and exciting products there? I just did not have anytime to attend. Far to busy with the family.

i second that opinion, i was running from booth to booth. But i did buy an awsome book that i've almost finished already. "Return of Royalty" By Valerius Geist, and Dale E. Toweill. Another awsome book by Geist. On the other hand dad is buying stuff, new 2106 Sage and a new Abu 5500, mabey a pair of simms breathables for me (!Mabey!) I loved how i could have gotten deals but i had no more money. Dad and I know a few of the guys there.

I grabbed a 6wt 4piece Loop from the clearance bin at M&Y's just to satisfy the spending itch. My mastercard wanted to jump out of the wallet and into a few of the boats there, if they gave out a few shots of Scotch they would have had me. Bent looked really content in his booth munching down his smoked salmon :yummy:.

Well I have thought allot about going to this years show and I kinda thought it was just going to be just a impulse buyers market. I had no intrest in going until Saturday and decided to check it out. As I got closer the more excited I became, drive in and pay $3.00 parking (which was a 1/2 mile from tradex) I walk up and the Remax shuttle bus offers me a ride, But I am OK. I was impressed with how long the line ups were and how quick we were dealt with and on to the show. It was not any different than any other show I have been at except the conditions could have been better. I love the idea they had the hunting area in one spot. I think they could have done better with the boating and fishing. They had quads, boats, and misc. stuff scattered in different areas. I got to give allot of credit to the different communities for setting up their booths to promote them. They really worked hard at trying to promote there communities. All in all I think we can get the best deal we can from our local sports shops that is why we support them. These trade shows are best for the ones who trying to get into the sport, not just looking for a bargin.

Much the same as every year, missed the dog show, and the meeting of minds for the BC OWC members (Outdoor Writers of Canada). I did get talked into joining the BCWF and touched base with allot of old friends. The one negative I have, came from my 11 year old daughter; Not enough stuff for kids. If we do want to have future generations involved we do need to think of the younger generations.

i'm probably not going to go next year. it just seems to be getting worse each year. it's turning into a free for all sidewalk sale for the fishing stores, who are just unloading last year's stock. the Hub Sport booth was by far the best and most complete fishing booth, while the Reliable Gun and Italian Sporting Goods booths were excellent for hunting. also, the hunting section keeps getting smaller each year. really pisses me off. let's get rid of that huge houseboat in there, and give some space to hunters. the boats and quads were all fine and dandy, but let's have them all in one wing, instead of scattered around. the only things i bought were a Remington Gun Cleaning Pad and a Remington sticker. i can't afford a boat or quad, so i barely looked at 'em. fishing gear, well, i have my sources. the real highlight was my buddy passing his boat operator's test. yeah, i'm not going next year.

Went to the show on Saturday with the kid... Had a great day. He got to pull a trout from the pond, tie a fly with Brian Chan and get his book autographed. No purchases for Dad, watching him carry around his fish for the rest of the day with a big grin on his face more than made up for it.

ok i will stop teasing you guys about the deal we got on our 'toons

Fishcat 9-IR with anchor and 50' of rope for $600 taxes in

for those who know the pontoon itself normally retails for 699+taxes and the anchor is 40$ but not sure what the rope costs/foot

already put it together pumped it up and the wife sat on it and was like WOW this is nice  think she might be wanting one soon now
