Can one just leave a car on a side of the road and go to the river, put tent and stay overnight? Is this allowable on the Vedder river?
No need to create discussions about leaving garbage, etc. We always clean after outselves, as well as any other garbage we see around....

That depends on where you go ansd how discreet you are. A tent and 'camping' is a bit much but many anglers sleep in their campers and canopies on many pullouts all along the river. Why not check out one of the many legitimite campsites, rec sites etc. along the river? If you go mid week you should be okay.

recreation sites always have many other people and you don't feel mother nature much
What I am looking is for any rules on leaving car on vedder road overnight, will it be towed ? are there any restrictions?

No, but LOTS of people do it all the time anyways because they have all the back roads locked down and the Forestry sites are usually closed.
Sorry I just have to say hey Beaker you can camp any where that you are not blocking access to any road or area that any one needs to get to. O0

I don't think you will be towed. How far will your vehicle be from where you are 'camping'?
not more than 15 minutes. our plan is to just drive along river, find more or less good access to river within 15 minutes distance from road, put tent and stay overnight
any recomendations on spots? I only know spots where I've been fishing before, there are very nice places, I just don't remember there were some signs on the road that either say no parking, or no capming on a river ...

Thanks for asking about this. I was wondering too because I want to do an overnight trip to Lindeman soon. Guess I'll be okay with the cops, but I'm still a little worried about ******** and thieves. Anyone ever parked overnight at the Post Creek trailhead?

There is no camping allowed from Tamahi down. There is a few camping spots above Tamahi but they are right beside the road, so it really isn't camping with traffic going by all day and night. Buy a backroads mapbook and do a little exploring.

Have you heard of the word ( Homeless ) you could throw that word out there a few times and there should be no problems heck you might even get some tips on where you can get a free meal etc.

hey do you guys know what the deal is with the homeless campers on the back way behind Teskey's Rock?

Are they on native land? Is that how they are getting away with it? I am afraid to park my truck anywhere around there, the creeps are always on bikes around the old riverside lot, scoping you out when you stop.

Cheers,
Nicole

Yea there is a huge homeless camp back there.... Good thing I don't drive yet cause I would never park my car anywhere near there if it was out of sight. Apparentally they are on native land so no one can get them to move. If you are fishing around there I would park in the parking lot by the bridge and walk across the bridge to go fish, at least there are lots of people around if you park there.

The homless camp is on the backside of the Vedder Crossing Bridge. If you turn left after the bridge where the diner use to be and go down that dirt road you will run into it before long. Also "Tesky's Rock" is not to far up Chilliwack Lake Road.. it is the rock wall that you can see if you are on the opposite side of the river just up from the bridge.
