I just returned from Paul Lake after spending a fantastic week there with the wife and kids.
The weather was great. The fishing started off great as well, but as the week progressed, it started to slow somewhat (never skunked though).
Towards the end of the week, we were working hard for our fish. I was suprised to see how quickly the surface temperature of the water can change.
The trip started out with the surface temperature at 54 deg F and finished with afternoon temperatures of 60 deg F.
We found the usual suspects to be most productive. Black or burgundy leaches and wooly buggers, dragons and shrimp patterns did all the damage.
Biggest fish caught was 19" and about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds with many more close to that size.
