What sort of scenery are you wanting and what type of fishing? Also are you looking for secluded or don't mind others around?

If closer is better and no fishing is not a big deal, I would say head to lighthouse park in west van. Just a great place to be. Short hike to some nice ocean views bring a picnic basket and a nice blanket to sit on and you are good to go.

thanks for the answer guys

Yes I do not want to fish and its nice to have a view e.g. lake or beach , just want a nice scenery because weekend if i go to golden ears there might be tons of people

just want to get a peace place and not really crowded and get a picnic table

i cant think of one place that would,nt be busy on a nice weekend that offers up both great scenery and picnic tables within 1 hour of Vancouver. sorry but i think you will need to sacrifice something to accomadate your needs.

This time of year I like going to places where I can feed the coho fry: Williams park in Langley and Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club in South Surrey. In Williams Park I feed them caddis fly larvae that you can harvest from under rocks in the shallow riffles. At Semiahmoo there is a nice nature walk through the back 40. At the bridge, scour the area for spiders and other bugs and toss them off the bridge. Or...bring you own bugs with you!
