Prof with a nice fish...

Typical scrappy little rainbow...

Many thanks to Fishortho and Robin for planning out the trip and making all the arrangements...Also to Professori for putting together the movies of the trip, and to each and every one of you for the enjoyment I had in your company on another great day on the river...!

Definitely going to have to do that again...!

Thanks for taking the time to organize the vid clips and the stills of the river..This really was one of the highlights of the summer for me....Next year, maybe a trailer for the 'toons would be a good idea?.....In two weeks I'll be fishin' in Europe, but those Thompson trout are going to linger in my mind for awhile......Ortho 8)

Hey 'Salt....I will send you some info on the area......It is absolutely beautiful in the summer....The entire Valley, aside from the constant train traffic is free of all development and commercialism.......Great dry fly fishing..Big water and big fish!

Hey guys that was great! I was watching some other rainbow fishing video on You Tube and yours was better! What bridge was in the background in the first picture? Was that close to where Ortho got into that bow? Was it taken on a dry?

BGM - Thanks for the comments on the video. That was the first time I had tried it and I learned a lot about what to do and not do for next time. The bridge is on Hwy 1 coming into Savona from the west. The shot is taken from Steelhead park, where we started the drift. Ortho caught both of his fish several miles downstream from there. the one in the video was about 1/2 way through the drift and the one in the still was in the last mile or so of the trip. I think all the fish caught that day (35-40) were on the dry, mostly large hopper patterns or sedges, green being the most productive colour.
