I like Perch, they are beautiful

Many years ago I used to snorkel for them. They provided quite a challenge with a speargun.
Man, they were good eating. Beautifully colorful fish.
Never had any luck fishing for them.
Used mussels for bait, but fish always stripped hook without getting hooked.
There were lots of them around the pilings in our local boat basin.

Thought I would throw in my 2 cents here again.... try going to the beach and turning over some rocks, finding the really small crabs. I mean the real small ones (like 1/4" across shell) put those on a small hook, and I guarantee you that you will never use anything else to catch perch with. Works like a charm!

shore crab is closed for picking. you can check the regulation.
I was using it for bait before, it was awsome! now I changed to use sea worms

honestly nthing works better then small hooks and good old red garden worms :thumbup: i never did not catch perch when using these two things
