Is there any organised camp sites on any of these rivers that is close to the river? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

There are a few actually but the Provincials that are close by that come to mind are Alice Lake
and Cat lake being the smaller of the two and is more like a recreation site...

Look on a map but approx 5min to either one. The campground's just north of Brackindale....Marko

Oh ya, thats by car assuming you used one to get there...

Is that place @ bridge above the confluence of the Squamish and the Ashlu still operating?

half of it was destroyed with the Ashlu power plant going in. They ran power lines right down the road and took out about 150' of it. You could try at Sunwolf on the Cheakamus or go above the second (Hydro) bridge on the Cheakamus and just after rounding the sharp corner to your right there is a campground there.

That Ashlu powerplant is a very good example or run of the river green power.
