Can some one tell me how to post pictures in the body of my message as opposed to posting a link to something like photo bucket?

Re: posting pictures?

Not sure if you can Woody...I've always used the photobucket angle, I'd be interested in knowing if there are alternatives also...

Re: posting pictures?

just a test.
Yeah I think it works. fyi I tried to post with the attach option with no luck, but using the insert image button and just pasting the photobucket url worked like a dream. Buy the way the image is called tough day on the river.

Re: POSTING PICTURES ?

Tyee, first you must upload the pic into an online photo album (ie. photobucket) If you do not have one that you use right now, photobucket is so far the best I have come across (www.photobucket.com) and sign up for a new account, its free. Once the picture you want posted is uploaded to your album, then you need to copy the Image Location. Note this is very important as the forum does not host pictures, only relays them from another source.

When you have the image location copied (right click on picture and select "copy image location") then you need to use the imahge button in the forum, it looks like a framed pic below the italics. When you click on it you will get {img}{/img} but with square brackets []. Now simply paste the image location of the pic in between the IMG commands and you are done.

A final image post would look like this:
{img}http://www.photobucket.com/tcooke/salmon/P01000.jpg{/img} ( but again their will be square brackets [])

Re: POSTING PICTURES ?

Ok...here's the way I do it...

First, create an account at photobucket. It's Free.

Then, access the photobucket site...here's the rest step by step...

- Under the title: "Upload Images & Video's" there is a light blue box with a darker blue border with the caption: "Choose an image (or a video)"...click on the browse button.

- Access the file on your computer through the pop window that comes up when you click browse, double click on the picture file you want to upload...

- You now have the option of uploading more pictures by clicking on the "Add more images" option in the same area of the photobucket site...new browse buttons will appear if you choose this option.

- At this point you also have the option of changing the size of the picture by clicking the "Uploading options" link on the same photobucket page. Just select the size you want your picture to be, be it avatar, webmail, or message board being the best three...for this site.

- When you're ready to upload your pictures, scroll down the page a little bit and click on the "Upload" button and let the site do its thing. Don't close the page, or view other pages while you do this unless they are in an entirely different window.

- Once the pictures are uploaded, scroll down the page till you see the picture you want to post, and you will notice three separate lines of code beneath the picture. Right click on the first one to highlight it and then click "copy"

- Now go to BCFR and "paste" what you copied in to your post...

-once pasted in, highlight this line of script and then move your mouse arrow over to the "image" icon above the text. It's the button just below the I button on your message editing page...

- Now you're ready, just click "Post" and your pic should show up...

Hope that helps,
Rib

Re: posting pictures?

Try posting them through links to a site like photobucket via URL's...that's how I did it.
