-5 guys
-2 3/4 hours
- 12 beers (not me), 2 gatorade
- 15 cigarettes
-3 sandwiches
- 4 times snagged on undwater snags (all of them broke free,1 was 30 minutes, god bless power pro)
- 17 handoffs
-5 cramped backs and forearms
- and 1 Holy SHITE moment when we got the first look

= PRICELESS

This fish was 10'5" long and had a girth of 57" (officially measured by the tagging guide)
Some fellow guides and their clients were there to help and we scanned it and it was never tagged, so its now sporting a tag

I am still in awe of that fish, and the crazy luck we had landing it.

Thanks Ular......

According to Curtis(the guide who tagged it) it was over 600 pounds.
Apparently the girth was exceptional based on length, good eats I guess.
All I know is we really couldn't lift it for photos after the long battle, and it swam away strongly which is all I really care about.
Most my clients stopped sipping beer and napped out after the adrenalin rush, rather satisfied with the morning fun, we caught that 20 minutes in.

that would make the fish about 488lbs !!! Awesome (going by the formula mentioned)

so where do they get 12footers at 1100 lbs if this 10footer is only around 500? Im going by sturgeon ads from guides and papers and what not of course as i have only played a handful and landed none of them yet :wallbash:

Thats a Nice sturgeon you got there !!

My boss was heading up to the hatzic in his jet and on the way back he was coming down river and noticed another jet (Guide boat cant remember the company name)fighting a sturgeon so he kept his distance and took photos for them when they landed the fish he beached his jet and snapped the pics for it, the overall length was 10 ft 4 or 6 inch's took them 4 and a bit hours to land it..

this was about a month ago, the photo was posted up on our info board at work, this thing looked like a submarine it was so big

What a fish!

Looking at the pics and thinking about the length of it, I can't help but picture me out on my 14 foot boat and pulling that monster up alongside my boat!!
I'm sure I'd be thinking about getting to shore as fast as possible

I'm basically a lake fisherman and am so happy when I get a 20 incher, but 10 plus feet??? Holy sheep dip!!
