-5 guys
-2 3/4 hours
- 12 beers (not me), 2 gatorade
- 15 cigarettes
-3 sandwiches
- 4 times snagged on undwater snags (all of them broke free,1 was 30 minutes, god bless power pro)
- 17 handoffs
-5 cramped backs and forearms
- and 1 Holy SHITE moment when we got the first look

= PRICELESS

This fish was 10'5" long and had a girth of 57" (officially measured by the tagging guide)
Some fellow guides and their clients were there to help and we scanned it and it was never tagged, so its now sporting a tag

I am still in awe of that fish, and the crazy luck we had landing it.

Thanks Ular......

According to Curtis(the guide who tagged it) it was over 600 pounds.
Apparently the girth was exceptional based on length, good eats I guess.
All I know is we really couldn't lift it for photos after the long battle, and it swam away strongly which is all I really care about.
Most my clients stopped sipping beer and napped out after the adrenalin rush, rather satisfied with the morning fun, we caught that 20 minutes in.

The reels fine because its a Shimano TLD 20, the rod is a lamiglas 9 foot Sturgeon rod that I am testing for them, it worked fine but got 4" snapped off when I was trying to help raise the fish up by hand lining, won't try that again with a huge fish.
