Was fishing out at point gray this morning ( not a single bite ) and when I picked the gear both lines where still on the release clip but both were broken off one between the flasher and anchovie and the other one before the flasher. The line did not look stretched or like something was rubbing against it just cut. I watch my rods like a hawk and usually know if I catch a jellyfish and I saw nothing. I have had a sealion destroy my gear when I commercial trolled but after a few minutes you would see it as it would surface for air. I have no idea what happened

what kind of line do you use? could the flashers have got together?

My line is 25 pound Berkley with 30 pound leaders. I would have noticed if my flashers twisted and only 1 would break.

ive had that happen fishin winter springs where the lines were down deep and we didnt really know that they were together, same thing both set ups gone, that was with 30lb mainline, shallower fishing you would notice that

I would say that it twisted off but once gone the line straight out agian. Are the swivles on you flasher working well?

Like Jay said. Your line twisted up, then broke. Then it straightened out while you trolled. That sucks.

Definitely twisted off. I was out Sunday in the harbour and the Jellyfish were fouling my gear like mad. The big red nasty ones that totally clog the swivels up. Doesn't take long before bye bye flasher once the swivels are covered in goop.

It could have been a small dog fish on one line and on a turn it tangled with the other line.It does not take much for a dog fish to saw through 25-30 lb test.I have bought up a dog tangled in both line lots of times where he has chewed through one line but still tangled in the other.
