So after a bad day on the river my reel broke after a bad spill wading. Anyone have a recommendation for a reel for chinook drift fishing. I prefer centerpin but anything works.

Also any recommendations on a reel for bar fishing. Took out my old spinning bar reel and it's toast. I have 4 daiwa mooching reels, 3 Daiwa 275's and one 275B, from my ocean days, do you guys like using those? Just spool it up with some braided line? Thanks

Some folks only use mooching reels to bar fish. I imagine it would take a bit of practice casting but playing fish would be more sporting. Just grease it up so the drag don't slip and your off to the races.

I'm assuming people must use braided line on those reels. I also have an old Penn long beach reel

Either would work fine and yes braid works well (less drag and therefore less shifting of weight and bait) but will cost you more.
