Just saw a piece on B.C's Kelly Olynyk from Kamloops.
Not a huge college basketball fan until March, & knew nothing about him.
A 7' forward?
Are you shatting me?
Hoopster at Gonzaga playing against whiny Brigham Young tonight.
Fast, smart, athletic and rangy, quick and quiet as a cat.
What a superb player and humble young man.
There is one of Canada's next true greats.
Very pumped up to follow his path.
Cheers.

I never really followed college hoops much either, but these last few months I have been following it because I've been hearing a lot about the "bumper" crop of Canadian kids in basketball coming over the horizon. In addition to Olynyk, you have kids like Anthony Bennett at UNLV and Andrew Wiggins, the high school phenom that are making a splash already. I just hope they can continue their success into their twenties and don't let the hype get to them too much, too early. The Canadian national news networks are starting to run stories on these guys now. I think it'll be great if Canada starts getting more world class atheletes in a sport invented by a Canadian.

He had a good--not great---game yesterday, but he reminds me of a young Arvidas Sabonis.

Arvi was tall, lanky, and could shoot as well as post up. But Olynyk has SO much more potential,
and is learning the NBA style a lot sooner than Arvi did.

Man is he slick for a tall guy....sneaking around the paint, good passer, great court vision.

Keep 'em coming!
