Rivers not in the reg's

Just a question for you guys. Im going to be on the Island for ten days at the end of the month for a fishing trip and Im just wondering, there are a bunch of river listed with regs for what is aloud to be retained as far as salmon go at this site http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/recfish/Freshwater/region1_e.htm. I want to fish a bunch of other river that arent on the list. If the rivers are not on the list am I to understand that means zero retention? I will still fish them either way but would like to know the exact regs of the waters Im fishing.

Thanks for any help

Normally in the case that something is not listed you have to follow the province wide regulations. So checkk what retention is province wide and that should be what you are able to keep :peace:

Like it says on the link you prvided in bold letters, "Unless otherwise stated in the table, the daily limit in all water of Region 1 is zero (0)."

This is in reference to Salmon, if you are talking other fish then follow the region limits first, not the province wide.

If the water is not listed you follow the provincial and the regional regulations.

Wow, there are a ton of waters with zero retention for salmon on the Island . I hope this means less crowds and tons of fish  ....

Please keep in mind, when the river has a strong run with good numbers they open it to retention. If the river is a (0) retention river it is usually beause of low numbers or a run they are trying to protect. It's probably not the best idea to go and start pounding these runs.

Im not going for extremely low key rivers, I do understand why there is no retention. If a river is in that much trouble would they not close it? ???
