I'm heading up there for my first fly fishing trip to Kamloops. I remember my dad taking me there when I was a kid, but he didn't fly fish, and we didn't catch anything. ANyways, I was just wondering what patterns I should be packing. The lady on the phone at the resort didn't seem to know too much when I asked.

Often it is best to check in with local shops once you get there, they will be more keyed into what hatches are going on up there right now...otherwise I would just bring some of the staple nymphs like damsels, dragons, mayflies, and also some leeches, etc...If you don't have any flies yet, just buy them up there at any reputable fly shop they'll have a good selection and some good advice too...

When your at Roche check out the lodge there is a fishing diary that the guests record thier catches...size and what it was caught on. Might give you some ideas on what to use. 8)

Like ribwart says, the local tackle shops can help ya out.
I usually stop in @ The Powder Keg in Merrit.
