So when does the ice usually come off on this lake? I have herd that the lakes are behind this year. I sure hope not as I finally have the time to get away for the May long weekend and I hope it will be fishable.

I don't know where you live but here in Kamloops it is still well below seasonal and quite chilly....The snow we got on the weekend is still around in many spots!!

If it warms up during the week I will try to take a drive to Roche on the weekend to see if there is any melting going on..... to satisfy curiousity!!!

Ya thats all I meant... I know this spring has been beyond wierd for weather. I just cant see there being ice on those lakes around may long weekend....

Just got back from a drive to Roche, sad to say it is not even close. The edges are just starting to go and the ice looks white and hard still. No chance it will be off by the weekend unless we get some really high temps and wind. I say looking at least another week or more. Tulip and Rose are also still frozen. I didn't bother cruising into any other lakes. Not a good start to the year.....May long weekend may be just in time for turnover.....
