I agree, I saw a clown out there Hook a spring and he hooked it in the Belly, with his 4 ft leader and 2oz Betty, By the time the fish came down it was infront of me I tailed it for him and he runs up to the fish as soon as i grabbed it by the tail and was about to bonk it, I said you cant keep it its foul hooked, he said who cares, I said to bad and told him to release the fish, he takes the hook out of its belly and tries to jam the hook in the fish's mouth. I released the fish, but he friggen lost it on me , yelling its my first fish i have ever caught, and i have been out here everyday for 2 weeks and finally got one, I said to bad. instead of arguing more with im i just packed up and went elsewhere.
Every run i go to there al over the place, I even had one guy laugh at me casue i had a 14 inch leader and my float was 2 feet from my lead, he was laughing at me saying good luck catching something with that setup, meanwhile he is sporting a 3oz betty with a leader saver, and 6 ft leader with about 3 inchs of uncut wool on the end of what to be looked like a 5/0 hook
There is these types of people EVERYWHERE !!!! Doesnt matter what run you go to these poeple are there. and most of them i have run into have been a********es when you tell them to release the fish.
During Red spring fishery on the Vedder there was DFO all over the place checking licenses pretty much everytime i went out, NOW !!! there is 4 times the amount of people out there and i have yet to see any of them out ?? Whats the deal with that.
I had called one incident in last week , about some guy bonking 3 big springs , and i waited for this guy to leave so i could follow him to his car to get a plate number and called it in on the closest pay phone i could find, I explain my complaint to the guy on the phone, and his reply back was, Will see what we can do but cant promise anything, I understand they cant be everywhere at once, but i have been all over that river the past month and a bit and i have yet to see DFO anywhere.
I showed a few guys that were new to fishign the Vedder, and they have only fished the Fraser and yes they brought there technique's from the fraser to the vedder, and they had no Idea that there is a difference in setting up your rig from BB to Short Floating. they were quite happpy to been shown this and had no idea about it. so there is some people out there that just dont know and need to be shown, and getting mad and yelling at these guys is not fair to them if there unaware of what there doing. the guys you explain and try to help and you ge a reply of f**k OFF !!! those guys are the ones that know there doing the IMPROPER WAY OF FISHING !!! and they dont care.
I had an incident with a guy about 4 years ago on the vedder, I told him to release a fish and the crazy bastard came at me with a knife, you have to watch who you speak to and how you go about doing it, there is some wacky people out there.
I stopped at Limit hole to observe the gong show , and that it was people standing 2 feet apart from each other, its pathetic up there, I witnessed a guy fighting a fish hooked in the tail, using a big betty, the fish comes off and the betty flies out of the water and nails some other guy in the head, splitting the side of his mellon open, pretty gross. I wish they would close that area the fish go through hell to get up that far that limit hole should be shut down, the only problem with that is all those people will be elsewhere on the river pissing people off.
