Me and trav went down to hope this weekend and had some good times.

Saturday> was pretty much trying to get something so we wouldn't be skunked ;) Got down there robert and randy were down there so we fished with them and slayed the sockeye all afternoon and got our limit 4 hours with lots of time to spare to go set up camp and try the little creak beside it.

Sunday> was pretty quick and we got rained on for the first 2 hours but we got our limit again and we were done by 9 30 and on our way back home with our fish in the cooler

But on the way home we decided to go around the toll and try fishing the head waters of the cold water and heres what i got on the fly rod>

And thats all hope no one comments on the way we were fishing and thanks to trav for taking me down there it was a blast

hey, thanks for sharing! it sounds you had a great w-e. I was thinking to spend a w-e end there too, but I have never been to hope. Is there any camping there? or should we go "wild" :) what's your suggestion re where to go fishing and camping? thanks

there isn't much of a crowd at our bar and it was the only a 2min walk and there was tons of fish to!
to camp down at the bar might be a little hard but there is a closer spot by the mouth of the coquihalla. Prob a 10min drive from the bar just drive out on the rocks and there's usually a little sand/gravel right by the river. With a nice pool.
Hope this helps if u got any more questions ask away.

thanx. been to mouth of coq once w/ no luck. is it down in that residential area? probably end up doing my usual thing with kids but river levels may not alow us to pitch the tent in our sandy spot, as well i always stress about kids in the boat on the fraser even if we are only crossing. but they sure have fun! do you even bother with scale? last time i was there was the year b4 the restrictions were put on!your current bar is just down i believe. does it still produce at low water?

scale bar..... i really don't wanna be standing up to my balls in cold water for 6 hours or so trying to catch a fish ;) Our bar is really good right now and prob will until mid aug prob but we usually start thinking about hunting in aug so we don't go much. and yes its just below. The camping spot is kinda hard to find but it is down by the residential area. Theres about 4 to 8 huge trees by the road that u drive down onto the shore. and theres usally a sandy spot but don't know if there is because of the high water.
