We fished, in absolutely beautiful sunny weather, for 4 hours off the banks of Sooke yesterday and managed two feeder springs, both with their fins clipped, one was legal at 65 inches and the other a centimeter too small. We had a few strikes too, but the fish kept stealing my small herring out of the Rhys Davis Teaser Head. Next time, I'll put the hook a little further back towards the tail. Both fish brought to the boat were caught using a white flasher and green hootchie at 120 feet, near bottom. There are some migratory fish starting to show according to Island Outfitters.
