Hello,
Though a new member here, I feel it imperative to bring this matter before Forum members so that we all don’t lose out. I am re-posting a topic I’ve posted over on the Canadian Prospectors’ Forum at GPEX. Time is running short, we need to do something about this before it’s too late. If you see fit, please join our ranks for a unified protest against a Bill which will disadvantage every last one of us.
Thank you,
Larry Amey
Bill 30, the Resource Road Act, and it’s atrocities !!
Where, in the name of creation, does this elected-by-the-people, since-gone-rogue government of British Columbia feel there exists no parameters to the extent of illegal antics it wishes to so willingly impose upon the citizenry of this province?
Contrary to our fundamental democratic process, our political marvels have covertly ushered through, the First Reading of Bill 30’s Resource Road Act, with full intent to escort it through its Third Reading, for the sole purpose of reassigning the absolute control over our backcountry roads to the legal guardianship of the private Forest Industry sector. Thus denying every British Columbian man, woman and child, and visiting tourists alike, of their right to free and unencumbered passage there upon. So then, how do they intend to flag this? It’s quite simple, by targeting the mineral exploration industry to take the fall for their underhanded back-room dealings. Once lawful governance has been passed to such newly appointed (so called) guardians, our publicly owned roads fortunate enough to escape the secretly slated deactivation lists, will be gated to bar access. Unless of course, payment of usage fees extending into thousands of dollars, are firstly extorted from the would-be user. And dare the individual who braves passage beyond the barriers without making such ransom payment, for our fine government officials have already levied the amount for fines payable, to such token amount of $1,000,000.00, with free incarceration for up to three years. All for daring to exercise our God given rights to Freedom of Movement, a freedom which had also been guaranteed by our forefathers under previous legislation.
Since the founding of this province through the blood and sweat of the early pioneering prospectors and miners, these individuals have enjoyed uninhibited travel over all province roadways, Crown owned or otherwise. This icon has been as much a part of our heritage as has been any political party who has enjoyed their employ through the sweat of our hard-earned tax dollars. And this recent maneuver by the present governing body symbolizes yet another outright money grab and shirking of governmental responsibilities. That which is now needed, is for the populous to unite as one in this fight to protect our rights from those who desire only to empower and abuse. Now is the time to stand and be counted.
I ask of everyone, for your own sake, that of your children’s, and for the sake of their children, take the small segment of time out of your life it would require, to battle down these political demons who so unjustly wish to take advantage of every last one of us. Take your stand, and say No !
For those who have not yet signed our Petition, please find justification to do so. And, if and when called upon, join our ranks for staging a confrontational public demonstration that would echo far and wide, and capture international televised media attention. Get angered about this - - muster to apply the pressure, otherwise, simply then lie down to let our politicians walk all over you.
The choice is yours, do you consent to being pushed around, or do you intend to stand tall to correct a very corrupt and ruthless situation? Let the current party’s political leader know exactly how you feel - - now is the time ! Delay, and we’ll all lose. Premier Campbell’s email address, is: [email protected]
In signing our Petition, please bear in mind, for it to bear any weight, you must provide your name and generalized location of residence. And please, as hard as it may seem, be diplomatic in your protest.
Let’s start making some noise !
Thank you,
Larry Amey
