Any insight as to when the next Spey Clave is to be held or any other events regarding Spey Casting??

If you are in the Lower Mainland, Reaction Fly and Tackle usually has some casting clinics on weekends at Cultus Lake in Chilliwack. Last one was this past weekend, and you can either bring your own gear, or test out some demo spey rods, and single hand fly rods they bring. Pretty informal atmosphere, and a good way to get in casting practise and tips to improve your technique.

ya i have been to Reactions clave and it was good. the only downside is learning to cast a 2hander on a lake is ALOT different than casting on a river.

I gotta dissagree with you......when tought properly on stillwater(or gras/snow) speycasting transfers quite easily to the river. In fact I find the quickest path to success to learn on stillwater before moving water. The added line grab of the flow makes it easy to get away with things. Learning on stillwater allows you to learn how to properly place your anchor which is everything.
