I bumped my head rolling out of bed this morning and thought I need to give Spey fishing a go. I used to do the single handed method for trout in my younger days, but want to add another method to my arsenal.
Most likely, I would be using it for catching, rather attempting :D to catch steelhead on medium to larger river systems.
So my questions are:

1) what is a good length & wt to look for?
2) What type of line would be best suited for a rookie to cast and hopefully have a decent chance of catching a fish on. MAN, there are sooooo many.
3) I know a decent set-up isnot cheap. What is a reasonable $$$ amount to spend on a set-up? I can scroungeup a used set-up, so some brands to look for or stay away from would be most helpful.

Thanks,

Hog
