Hi Guys,
Been a while since i was here last, good to see the Spey section still going strong.
I will be back in BC in a couple of months, and was thinking of doing some Speycasting Schools or just havin a Spey get together, i will be teaching in Calgary for 10 days but will be looking forward to getting back to BC.
So if anybody likes the sound of a get together, lets start the planning.
Gordon.

Hi Guys,
I will be back in the Okanagan in April, not sure where is a good place to have a school as yet, but i can travel.
It will be on water, i only ever teach on water, change of direction casts that kind of thing.
Where do you thing i should have a school ?
Hopefully i can get six guys together, as thats the max for one day.
Speak to you soon.
Gordon.

the Vedder would be a good place because then there is a chance for STEEL !!!! not to mention learning the spey on moving water helps. i had a few quick lessons at a spey clave on a lake and it didnt really help much because the first time i hit the river all the factors were changed  and i got frustrated.

this school would most likely happen on a weekend day right?

sounds good so far Ghillie

it doesnt have to be the Vedder, that was just an option. I would have said Fraser but that will be high water time in April/May time. Also the Vedder goes FLY ONLY May1st   Below the crossing only though because above is closed. unless its changed

Hi Guys,
The Vedder sound like a plan, been there fishing loads of times and had a speyclave at peg leg a couple of years ago.
As soon as i get my flights sorted out i can pick a Sat or Sunday for the School, would also like to have a spey get together in the OKanagan valley.
I guess if i could get 6 guys for the School that would cover the cost of my Car hire, accomodation ect.
Will try and sort out a date this weekend.
Thanks Gordon.

Speygillie: I would be interested in some Spey lessssons as well. I am very green....and have only tried a couple of times to toss line around on a moving river.
It's a whole new game and is challenging. I have looked at a couple of videos and tried to copy the action shown on film but results are embarrassing to say the least.
I'm in Parksville and would prefer the Island as a spot......but understand that the group dictates location.
but keep me in mind and let me know if dates get established.
I willl not be available April 15 - May 15th but other dates are good for me as I'm retired.
cheers...

Hi Guys,
I think the Vedder sounds good, i will have my flight and dates sorted out in the next couple of weeks, busy working on a new stream fishery in Scotland right now.
speyce_cadet give nile creek fly shop a call, Mr C does Speycasting lessons, i hope to do a little Spey get together woth them later in the year, most likely August time.
I will be in the OK valley for a few weeks, so can sort out a date for the Vedder/chedder in a wee while.
Thanks Gordon.
