Decided to take a day off from work and head up to Squamish again with my dad who is retired. Got up at 5:00 am to find it pouring rain outside in Vancouver. Checked the weather network online quickly and off we went. When we got up there the weather was great, just on & off light showers. We decided to drift the Mamquam today. Fishing was slow today for us. We hit the river hard with everything we could think of under our floats for about an hour with no success. There were 3 people just below us on spincasters throwing in large spoons and other metal gear. They kept snagging pinks in the body and tail and in doing so spooking the rest. :naughty:
Frustration set in so we moved on to another spot. A couple of casts in and wham fish on! I pulled in a nice 6lb. humpy that was still fairly chrome. ;D Half an hour later without anymore hits we decided to head back to the first spot as we had seen those other people leave. With no other fisherman casting in the area things started to pick up. My dad hit a nice chrome 4lb. doe 3 casts in. A few casts later I hit another. We ended up hooking into about 7 fish by the time it went dead around 11:00 am. A pretty good day on the flow in the end but nowhere near as good as yesterday.
