Well knowing what shape the squamish was going to be in a buddy and me decided to go for a little scout mission on Sunday with more scouting and practice casting (for myself) than actual hard fishing. Loaded the pontoons and the long sticks into the water at fishermans park at around 1030am and off we were. Have never seen the Squamish from the other side and it was shaping up to be a nice day out so I was pretty excited. From fishermans park we rowed upstream in the slack water and made a b-line across the river to a sweet looking spot where I have seen the guides out a few times when the chummies are in, a really beautiful spot. After some casting we then hit several spots that will be very fishy for when the run comes in heavy, I cant wait. Hear are some pics.

My boat across from Fishermans Park

Believe it or not my foot is about a foot away in this underwater photo, Vis was terrible

We drifted the bottom maybe 3 miles, from fishermans park down past the Mamquam bar. Some faster water + small rapids but it was pretty mellow. Up from this point there is some more rapids and swift water. Would have been nice to get into some fish but oh well.......Soon enough. HOOK Its a pretty mellow drift and my buddy has drifted the river from thirty mile to the bottom now. When you come up you will be safe in the pontoon for sure.
