i was wanting to go to the squamish river for my first time on sun. I fished numerous other rivers, such as the vedder but never the squamish. im going to probally be float fishing with roe or whool for whatever i can catch. Any directions to a good stop and park the truck would be appreciated.

their is a bait ban on the Squamish and it's tribs, so you'll have to use wool, or spoons. I herd the cheakamus is getting a few coho. Try a blue fox and see what happens, good luck out there

THE SQUAMISH WILL PROBABLY BE HIGH AND OUT WITH ALL THIS RAIN COMING FOR THE NEXT FOUR DAYS. I WAS THERE YESYERDAY AND IT WAS STILL ON THE HIGH SIDE WITH 6" OF VIS WITH AN APPLE GREEN COLOUR.IF YOU DO GO I WOULD RECCOMMEND SPOONS AND SPINNERS(ie. COLORODOS IN BRASS AND NICKEL UNDER A FLOAT.)
AS FOR SPOONS SAY THE USUALS LIKE KOHOS, KITAMATS, AND CROCS!

HEY HOTROD, WHAT WOULD YOU RECCOMEND FOR FLIES? - I TOO FIND THAT THE USE OF CAPS REALLY DOES GRAB ONE'S ATTN..

In case anyone's interested, I am more than likely gonna be out there early sunday....if you see a shorter guy in green waders and ablack ball cap, come say hi ....I have yet to actually meet one of you...all I run into is dude's from Idaho who know about the site

I wouldn't waste your time dude the river is probably blown out and with heavy rains in the forecast it won't come into shape until at leastnext Thursday or friday weather depending.

I would say keep an eye on the river and weathe reprorts. Perhaps someone on this site can give more info on the vedder.Good luck !

i remember a few years back i was fishing a blown out vedder in early november and i had one of the best outings i've ever had just remember when the water is super high just fish close to shore for the coho travel the easiest route possible and gosh darn are they fun to catch all day!
