Kinda funny though we actually found a steel hatch, hinges and all.

He was so excited he was into his first Vedder hatch of the season that he dropped his cigar. :
So, strange season of weird things caught on the river so far. Steel hatch, and a deer head in the lower at the beginning of the season... Wonder what else this season will turn up?

Actually if you look closely it seems to be a misclipped hatchery. You can see the adipose fin on the top right near the tail.

That's a pretty big hatch for this time of year. Good to see them so big this early in the year. Normally don't see that til next month.
