Some of the members here maybe interested in this. There is a fundraising steelhead derby on the Vedder River on Sunday January 20th. The money raised will go toward Sportfishing Defence Alliance.

Derby cost: $25.00 (includes one draw prize ticket and Derby baseball hat)
Additional draw ticket cost: $5.00
Sign-up time and location: 6:00am - 7:00am at Reaction Fly and Tackle
Weigh-in, prizes, BBQ time and location: 1:30pm at Cedar Run (about 5 minutes drive upstream from the Tamahi Bridge)

At 1:30pm, all participants will be able to enjoy a BBQ potluck lunch, all fish will be weighed in, prizes will be given, donation will be presented to the SDA. If you would like to contribute for the lunch (ie. bringing food and drinks), please contact Rick at [email protected].

Lots of prizes will be given away: DNE balsa floats, Pioneer Dryking fishing vest/jacket, centerpin rod blank and building, reel repair service, spoons and spinners, Grizzly Creek neoprene hip waders, Knotty girls knot tying guide, Stealth Fishing floats.

If the river condition is good, your chance of catching one is pretty good based on recent reports. Good luck.
