The Fraser north of Williams lake and its tribs are now closed to all fishing for sturgeon. There is and have been tagging programs on northern sturgeon, and now the Nechako stock is being hatchery enhanced. The population vs age graph for the stock indicates very few juvenile sturgeon under the age of 30 years, almost void, and a stock status of about 750 fish in a system that was thought to support around 5000. The Fraser north of Prince George has a population of various age class fish, it just does not support the same natural population numbers as the Nechako should. Hope this helps,
Bill
