Fished sturgeon above island 22, 18 hours over 2 days, 2 fish. tried smelt, uligans, and squid. How have others been doing?

pretty good for me. Nothing huge, but the big feed is coming ;D Try get your hands on some fresh salmon guts.

I got one between 4-5 feet yesterday on the lower. I wasn't trying for sturgeon I was bar fishing for springs. Sure was a nice surprise.

Sturgeon have been a little slow, most fish are in the lower river but once the pinks starrt moving in big numbers the sturgeon will follow and hold in deeper water waiting for the fish to drift down.

You need to work on your bait choices Ti3006.
Sturgeon fishing has been excellent lately.

Think a bit about what they would naturally be eating, match the hatch so to speak.

Nice fish Rod,,,,,saw you on on the Harrison yesterday...Had one very large dino on that we chased around the confluence for half an hour until it wrapped up on some rocks..Jumped twice and stuck its head up beside the boat once...My uncle and his pal from Ontario were amazed at the size and strength of the beast...
They both had a bad case of noodle arms when we finally put the boat back on the trailer... :thumbup:

Going out Thursday. I got hold of some salmon bellies but no guts. Usually this time of year I fish with gills, bellies and eggs but this year no salmon, so no bait. Any idea where I can get ditch eels or any other bait suggestions.

Yah, I know I can buy fish from the indians but it just aint going to happen. Any other ides for bait?
