We are looking for recommendations on suggested areas for salmon fishing, prawns & Dungeness crabbing areas, marinas, and timing for a trip to the Campbell River - Desolation Sound area. We can come any time in july or august.
Summer Chinook in Campbell River Area

Savary and Hernando are good areas for crabbing in the summer.
The entry area to Desolation Sound around the tip of Sarah Point and Okeover Inlet are good prawning areas. I fish out of Powell river and Grants Reef and Sentry Shoal can be good at that time of year.
As for places to stay I can't help unless P.R. is a choice then I would look into the Willingdon Beach Campsite, it is located 5 minutes from the boat launch located on the water and is run by the municipality and is in the center of town. Hope this helps.
