Well, I was wondering what to do with my sunday, wanted to perhaps head out and get into my first Sturgeon of the year. Wasn't sure where to go just yet..... but then..... I got an offer I couldn't refuse!! ;D
Made it to Island 22 at about 12:30 to meet my fishings partners for the day, and what would you know Berg showed up with this tiny little boat, didn't know how we were going to get a fish in outta that thing. :D :D Yep them North River jets... they have no room in them at all.... (insert sarcasm here). :D Shortly after that Emiaj arrived and just like that we were on our way. Got to the first location, after dodging a fair amount of stumps and logs coming down river, I guess the freshet is well on its way... and man for not looking like there was much current, when anchored up, realized that it was rather quick, to quick, so off we go in search of a suitable spot, and after having Emiaj pull anchor about 6 times... ;D ;D we found a nice piece of water. So Berg has his rod out, I get out the other ones and turn around, noticing that Berg's rod was doubled and pounding, Berg like a pro casually grabs the rod and sets the hook, and utters the words... "this is a good one, who wants it?" Well, I guess Emiaj was still tired from pulling achor so many times and wants not part of it, he says, " Dave does!!" So with a big grin, I walk over, keep in mind, we are in a boat and I walk over..... Upon taking the rod, I get a couple real good shakes..... then the thing takes off and doesn't stop. Nothing I can do but stand there and think to myself, "holy crap holy crap holy crap and so on". After about 30 seconds more of this pulling I turn around and murmour, " I think we may have to pull anchor... and shortly after that... the hook pops. ???
Oh well, it was real fun for what it lasted. Man can the big ones ever pull!! It was like being hooked to a tanker...
After that we moved a couple more times, did some joy riding.. ;D ;D and had a whole lot of laughs!! Was a great day and thanks to Berg for taking me out, was awesome. Emiaj, always a pleasure to fish with you. Also, thanks to Berg and Emiaj again for putting on a bit of a spey casting clininc from the front of the yacht as well. I can only wish to cast like that, you know.... if I get get a spey rod!! ;D ;D

 and can't wait to get out there again..... next time Mr. Sturgy isn't going to be so lucky!! ;D ;D

Yes, it was a nice day on the water! The sun was shinning and was away from the wife. LOL  Fishing wasn't that hot on the upper sections of the Fraser but we did manage to hook into a brute! All in all it was nice to get out and chat fishing with some good company! Oh ya, we hooked the one fish on lampray!
