Started the day by trolling from the bell bouy to the middle of the strait with dipsy divers and hoochie at 30 and 40 pulls sailing. Nothing.
Went to troll the Grandy in the dingy at 05:20pm just atfter low slack and dropped my cannon ball in the water... not atached to the wire. Put on the old 2 1/2 pearl blue zzinger and tried the usually spots. Hooked a spring at about 7:30 half mile NW of the green can marking the end of the reef around Thrasher - there is a chanel between two reefs, one come out of the water the other gets to 20' and the chanel is 60', I have gotten more then a few there. It jumped twice and threw the hook. I think a seal was following it as it went from an average fright to crazy jumping and running hard. I was on my own so I could not keep close and get it in quick. Oh well. As well I got the assorted rock fish and sole. Got a nice about 9lb ling at the reef closest to Thrasher at 80' about 6:00 let it go - my crew is a bunch of vegitarians.

My bro dropped us at Charlaine boat ramp last night on his way back to Brechin he dropped his lines for a few minutes at the fingers and got a 22lb spring in a matter a 3 minutes, He'd been out since 6 am so he deserved it, There were a couple big spring carcasses at the brechin on Tuesday as well so hopefully the fish are starting to show up in the area.
