Hello all,

Is a person required to hold an 'Anglers guide licence' while guiding fishermen in Tidal waters? This might be a silly question, but everything I can find on the subject pertains to freshwater fishing only, including the Wildlife Act. Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steely

Check out transport canada website for all the hoops you need to jump through. Not the same as Provincial, but not hassle free either.
First Aid, Med A 2 or Better, SVOP, ROC, Boat registration and certification and inspections, to name a few things you need.

HT,

Thanks for your reply, I was aware of these marine transportation requirements that are involved, but am unsure about having to be licenced thru DFO as you would need to be if guiding in freshwater. Seems to be a grey area when it comes to saltwater.

Thanks

Was fishing in Ukee last week and noticed that the courses are offered over there by a private company, 4 days for 3 courses at at total cost of just under $1,000. not exactly cheap.

Who offers these courses in the lower mainland? Just curious.
