Well the plan was 0600 at the QA for 3 or 4 hrs then to Tunstall for the low slack....Reality was a blowing northerly outflow with 5 mph currents heading south and i gave up after 30 min when I couldn't turn the boat back into the wind...

So it was off to Tunstall a few hours early....burned fuel there going in circles until 1015 when a nice fish hit my anchovy at 110 feet..he started slow but once he realized he was hooked he half spooled me....about 50 feet of the back of the boat he jumped like a rocket and flipped his head in the process catching his freedom...dam

An hour later another hit again anchovy at 110ft....good fighter...problem was I didn't have time to get my downrigger up and the bugger wrapped and snapped....mind you that was after the rookie net minder bopped him on the nose with the net...dam again...

Half hour before tide change a 3rd hit right of the clip stripped my anchovy again at 110 ft without sticking....dam dam dam....

Oh well at least I was out there on the water getting some action....there were two other boats out there but they got nothing...

Of interest all hits were on the side with stainless cable and a black box pulsing...the braided line side was skunked...hmmmmmmmmm i wonder.....

On the radio it sound like the gang at Thrasher and Gabriola were on the bite for a while...

Fished the Southwest Corner of the Southbank yesterday (weather too snotty to get out to the Big Bank) out of Ukee. Drug the gear right in the mud. Ran a hootchies (green glow spatterback w/ pink racing stripes) behind a custom UV flasher on one side, and a host of terminals on the other. The hootchie outproduced even bait, and we ended up switching both rods to the same. Hit ~ 18-20 fish down at 160 feet, landed 15 in a quick 2 hours. Largest was about 25 pounds, smallest about ten.

Starting to get right HOT off the Real West Coast Gentz! Heard from my partner that hali's were thick and Hungry out on the Shallow Spot this am (of course the weather tamed down, I'm off the pond today ::))

Hope to see a few of you out there enjoying the bounty Mistress Pacific has to offer! :beerchug:

Went down to Tsawassen and unfortunately was only able to fish for an hour and then it got too lumpy.
Stuck around for a while tucked away and managed our limit of Crabs and even had a little feist on shore.
Nothing like sitting on a beach and getting stuffed on fresh Crab.

Great report from WCVI, Nog. I can't wait to get out there. I have heard a few reports in the last week of great fishing out there. The Columbia is expecting a nice return of Chinooks this year. I wouldn't mind intercepting a couple of those beats.
