I've seen it happen before where some uneducated fisherman have mistaken steelie and salmon smolts for trout and have bonked them! :wallbash:

Not too many, if any, trout at all in this river. If you need a trout fix you may have to go else where, but of course if that's the case then the coho's running right now is the answer.

BTW , fishing in the cap right now is excellent. for both summer steelhead and coho. :thumbup:
i caught my best fish ever last few days ago (summer steely) released perfectly too.also 4 coho so far.
better hit it up ! :peace:

Do you know that only 40 summer runs return per year? And steelhead do get caught by fishing for coho so i'm missing the point of this? I didn't know it was bad to hook a steelhead while fishing for bluebacks in the cap! I myself would love to hook a summer run in the cap! Wouldn't you?
