Chinook Fishing: This time of year we normally get Chinook in the 7-20 lb range. We also have days like we did Saturday where we catch 5 good size Chinook all between 14-22 lbs. There was a good forecast for returning this season and we are seeing the first of the large run of Chinook due to come past. You can probably expect anywhere from 4-10 Chinook per trip right now if you are just catching Chinook. The weather is starting to get better and this is making it easier on all of us. There has been good fishing around in close to shore which is good news for all those who are sensitive to swells. Fishing has been good at both Great Bear Rock and Sail Rock. Halibut Fishing: Good numbers of Halibut are showing up around Long Beach bank as well as a few in close to shore. The size range is going to be anywhere from 12-60 lbs. Yesterday our guide Dan hit 5 halibut. The limit for halibut is 1 per day and 2 as the carrying limit. There are lingcod around as well, so if you want a basket of fish, this is the time of year for it!
