I was wondering if anyone had fished eithe one of these lately. I'm new to the whole river, and stream fly fishing thing, Been fishing the open water for a few years. Can I wade out in it yet or is it still too high? I know you can't keep the fish in the lower part. But its 2 fish a day in the upper section.

Any Little creeks or smaller rivers that you can think of, please let me know. I've been to Deadman river, but thats about it. The kids had a blast there catching the little bows.

Now that all the fry are gone I heard it's real slow, I didn't think the Deadman was open to any fishing. You might want to make sure. A buddy of mine fished it a few weeks ago and killed it, he was there this past week and got skunked, and he's a good rod. Thompson's fishing well though.

Dead man is open with a special quota: no trout under 25 cm below Mowich Lake. It's in the regs.
We didn't keep any on the deadman, but I did get one that was almost 10 inches. Decent for the little creek area at the 25km mark.
Yah the fish have really started hammering egg patterns on the thompson, anything round get hit. I was throwing orange skuds cus i ran out of glow bugs, and was still catching fish. Slow swing on a sink tip. I brought both the 8wt and the 6wt but wind was blowing fairly hard so 8wt was alot easier to cast.
Y.G. what does that have to do with the upper or lower adams area??? ??? :drunk:
sorry to rain on your parade kamfan,But those little trout in the deadman are steelhead smolts. Thompson river steelhead smolts! :wallbash:steelhead in the T aren't doing so well. :'(why the tribs of the T are even open is beyond me. :wallbash:.When fishing tribs of any steelhead river if your'e catching voracious little bows under 10" you can rest assure those are steelhead smolts, and they most definetly should be left alone even by kids ..sorry.I know two spots with wharfs easy access and abundant pansize trout lac le jeune and walloper lake right at the lac le jeune exit.please leave the deadman alone.
Didn't keep any all single barbless catch and release.....was tring to teach them about conservation early. YOU can go have fun, but you have to be gentle while doing it.

Sorry chasinchrome, but if you are catching trout under 10" in any stream that has resident trout in it, you are catching trout. There is a likelihood that the trout you are catching might head to the ocean, which defines a steelhead, but there is also a likelihood that you are catching a resident rainbow. Personally, I wouldn't keep a rainbow of that size and release almost all fish, of whatever species, that I catch. If there are regulations in place allowing the fishing for, and the retention of, trout in a waterway, it is because it has been determined that there is a sustainable resident population in that waterway.
