Well it appears that summer has officially arrived!!! Vancouver was a hub of activity this weekend with people flocking to the beaches and water to enjoy this amazing weather. The forecast is calling for more sun this week all the way up to Sunday with daily highs ranging from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius and daily lows ranging from 14 to 15 degrees Celsius.
The marine forecast for the early part of this week is looking favourable. As of now they are calling for northwestern winds ranging from 15 to 25 knots on Friday. While this is not a big problem for local trips it will make the Georgia Straight very hard to pass. This forecast will likely change as we get closer to the end of the week. We’ll make sure to update you on Wednesday’s blog post.
Now lets get to the fishing. Overall, the fishing has slowed down a bit. Thrasher Rock, off of Gabriola Island, has slowed down. With the amount of fishing pressure there were very few fish being caught. Having said that it is always worth while heading out to the Gulf Islands and especially Howe Sound at this time of year on a full day charter in search of chinook salmon.
If you would like to book a Vancouver salmon charter please do not hesitate to give Dave a call at Pacific Angler (604-872-2204).
