VANCOUVER BC FISHING REPORT
Bon Chovy Vancouver Saltwater Fishing Report, July 5, 2006

Summer is officially here and the summer runs have started to show up with the warm weather. Over the last couple weeks, Howe Sound has been producing quite nicely with several Chinooks being hooked up each trip. These fish ranged from the mid teens to low twenties in size. We have been fishing between ‘Hole in the Wall’ and Sunset Marina. Most of our success is coming from anchovies trolled between 80 and 130 feet, with the odd fish coming on spoons (cop car, and green glow ).

Over the last few days we have been focusing our efforts inside the harbour along the West Vancouver shore line. With this stretch of hot dry weather Coho are now schooling and holding in this area. So far the Coho have been averaging between 4 and 8 pounds, with several nice Chinook in the mix ranging from the low teens up to the high twenties. For the Coho our success has varied between anchovy, spoons (cop car, green glow ), and the good old trusty white hootchie, with depths ranging from 20 to 65 feet. Primarily anchovy trolled between 40 and 90 feet has been our most consistant producer for Chinooks. Typically we are focusing our efforts between the ‘Blue Apartment‘ and the Capilano mouth on the flood tide, and from the 'Pink Apartment' up to the Fisheries station on the ebb.

Good Luck www.bonchovy.com
