haha ya its so quick and a little out of focus...still getting to know how to use my camera ...its an olympus 1030sw.

Ya and i hooked into two, thanks to Hook, unfortunately I couldnt land them. But Giuseppe passed me his rod and I managed to land my first chinook at the end of the day (thanks G)!

A tip for you Ouch, work on your timing. Make sure that as soon as your weight hits the water you thumb that spool once quickly to stop it from spinning. Just a quick tap with your thumb to stop it, then the weight and float in the current will get it spinning again at the right speed...

Hook didn't let you land the fish on his CP or did you give it back to him...? :hmmm:

I took the rod back so i could land and retain the fish.

I will say that learning on a reel that nice will take a bit more time then say using an Abu. I took a few casts with it so i could adjust the casting drag properly and even i had a couple loose casts :-\ then again i havent cast one for 2yrs since i got my pin, unless you count 2days this year sockeye fishing with my Abu

If i was going to buy a new LW i would get a Luna they sure are nice and super smooth and the big handles are wickedly comfortable for reeling in  Very nice reel you got there Ouch, its going to get worked out hard in your hands. I mean first day using it and hooked 2 fish, cant complain about that ;D

Cant wait to fish with you again :beerchug:

My reel is broken. One wing doesn't work. But still using it and, more importantly, still catching and landing big springs with it!! So I guess, although it is broken, it still is very sensitive... now wait.. that was the rod... or maybe the reel too ... "few" years ago people were fishing with no reel guys. :beerchug:

LOL  I am not over 40 yet, but I remember myself fishing with bamboo rod with no reel, just float, weight and a hook.
That was not fishing for salmon though, carps and other lake/river species similar to carp
